Nagman is a 4 decade old organisation dedicated to the cause of Instrumentation, serving industries in India & worldwide thro’ their Calibration Products & Services and Temperature Sensors. Nagman’s infrastructure & facilities (Manufacturing, Quality Assurance & Calibration), skills & capabilities (with respect to Design & Applications Engineering) are widely recognized (& accepted) by leading project consultants / executants & major industries.

Nagman’s “Centre for Calibration” with its sophisticated facility is accredited by NABL (equivalent to UKAS) for Thermal / Mechanical (Mass & Pressure), Electro-Technical & Fluid Flow Parameters & provide the vital calibration traceability link to the products manufactured by them.

Nagman have pioneered manufacturing Temperature Sensors – Platinum / Nickel & Copper – in India – especially custom designed – to International Standards & have, over the past 3 decades, been involved actively in the manufacture of Thermocouple / RTD – Elements / Inserts / Probes / Assemblies, tens of thousand of which are in good use in industries – in India and overseas. These Probes & Assemblies, produced to meet stringent International Quality Standards are also available in extensive custom design configurations offering ultimate flexibility.

Design
  Barstock Single piece solid hexagon / round barstock, deep drilled and machined with a tapered hot end & parallel stock, designed as per ASME PTC 19.3 or to suit the Temperature / Pressure rating velocity etc. Bore dia : To suit OD of insert / element; Bore concentricity within 10% W.T.
  Built-Up Beyond 600 mm immersion and for medium pressure application, a built up construction with 100/150 mm tapered barstock drilled tip, welded to seamless ½” sch 40/80 pipe for balance length is offered.

Protection Sheath Fabricated from seamless tube with hot end plug welded & process connection welded on are available for low pressure applications.

Specials For Coal Mill / Abrasive Applications : Solid Sintered Tungsten Carbide / Carbide Matrix Thermowells Single length max 450 mm, OD max 22 mm – Microweld joined, with reinforcement upto 1000 mm.

Barstock / built up thermowells as above with 0.5/1 mm thick tungsten carbide / stellite hard facing / coating for coal mill temperature measurement / flue gas temperature applications.

5. Heads

Cast Aluminium, with screwed cap, chain, weather proof to IP 55 / IP 65 / NEMA 4, or Flame Proof / Explosion Proof to IS-2148 (certified by CMRS) / Group II A / II B / II C.

Cable Entry ¾” ET / ½” BSP / NPT; other sizes on request. Single or Double entries.
Grounding Terminal Optional.
Glands Single / Double compression Types to suit cable size; Brass / Nickel plated.

7. Name Plate / Identification

Anodised aluminium, giving relevant details, provided at the bottom of inset flange & on the cover of head. S.S. Identification Tag & Punching on flange / thermowells optional.

 

8. Testing

A) Routine Tests

a)     Calibration 3 Points over the range. All calibration standards traceable thro’ NABL Accredited Calibration Lab to International Standards.
b)     Bore Concentricity For Barstock Thermowells only; in process & after finishing (10% of wall thickness typical)
c)     Hydraulic Test Internal / External at specified Test Pressure / Time (100 kg/cm2 typical)
d)     Insulation Resistance Cold at ambient temp. as per relevant standards (> 100 MOhms at 30°C at 250 VDC typical)
e)     Dimensions & Threads Certified standard ring / plug gauges are used to check threads.
f)      Nitrogen leak test For Mineral Insulated RTD’s /Thermocouple Inserts (30 Kg/cm2 pressure).

Dye Penetrant Test for weld joints – optional.

 

B) Type Tests – On Sampling Basis (Optional)

Response Time Test
From 0 to 100°C (boiling water), for inserts / complete assemblies.

(5 to 7 sec. typical for 6 mm OD MITC / RT)

Insulation Resistance Tests
Elevated Temp. (5 Mohms at 500°C at 50 VDC typical for M.I.T.C.)
Calibration
5 Points over the range

 

C) Third Party Testing / Calibration – Optional at extra cost.

  1. Material (Chemical / Physical) Test Certificate for Thermowells / Flange material
  2. Radiography Test for Barstock Thermowells & Wells.
  3. Calibration certificates for RTD / TC – NABL from our Centre for Calibration.
  4. Type Tests for self heating, stability, endurance, vibration, etc.
  5. Surface Hardness of welds, Tungsten Carbide Thermowells / Hard facing, etc.

Nagman also offer Working Standard Thermocouple / RTD Probes – with enhanced Accuracies – Typically 1/2 ANSI // 1/2 / 1/3 / 1/10 DIN – with Traceable Calibration Certificate – for use as Master Standards.
